Twenty-seven people died that day in the Carrollton bus crash. But in the middle of screaming children and chaos, something miraculous happened—Daniel felt an unexplainable peace wash over him, and he heard God speak
I haven’t listened to the podcast yet but I will very soon. So I might be giving details that are in the podcast already. If so I apologize.
I remember meeting and talking to Daniel at the Abide & Advance retreat. I remember the Carrollton bus crash; It was a huge tragedy here in Kentucky. I knew Harold Dennis was a survivor of that crash and how he has significant burns all over his body. He later played football at UK. I know the story of how he nearly died while on the football team because of a complication of the burns - he is unable to sweat.
Hey brother Brian. It was great meeting you at the conference. Thanks for sharing. Please let us know your thoughts after listening to the podcast. God is good.
Hey Daniel, I wanted to let you guys know that I loved the podcast. I hope the info I gave you before about Harold and his near fatal incident while playing football at UK was helpful. I heard that story from a local Lexington sports talk show who interviewed the sports trainers who were there at the time.
Wow! That’s amazing, Brian. This story really needs to be told. That’s why I thought it was so important to have Daniel on the episode! Blessings, brother!
Wow, Daniel's story is absolutely incredible. I’m struck by the way God used such a tragic event to call him to a life of service. The peace he felt in the middle of chaos is so powerful. It’s a reminder that God’s presence doesn’t always remove the difficulty, but it gives strength to endure and act. I also love the way his story highlights the importance of proximity, community, and inviting others, especially our children, into the work God is doing through us. Thank you for sharing his journey and showing how faith, purpose, and perseverance intersect in real life. 💪🏽♥️
