This is a different kind of post!
It’s going to help us make more disciple-makers by understanding the dynamics of disciple-making in the places where we live, work, and play and in the context of American Christianity.
It’s one that is dependent on your generous input, not my great ideas.
Disciple-Making in the American Church
I talk to church attenders daily who would consider themselves faithful and engaged in the gathered church, but who admit to me, sometimes through tears, that they feel like they are not advancing the gospel in the places where they live, work, and play.
They have a deep desire to see their co-workers, neighbors, and family come to know Jesus deeply, but they do not know how or have the margin to actually do something about it.
THEY FEEL STUCK!
That grieves me, because it’s not what Jesus intended!
He wants us to thrive in discple-making. It was not just his suggestion and hope.
IT WAS HIS COMMANDMENT!
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20 (NASB)
WE WANT TO HELP SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!
