Great article, Kevin. A gentle question is about the “behaviours” language. Might it be better to say posture and behaviour to make clear that you can’t “do” or “ perform” your way into a Disciplemaking culture. It has to truly come from an authentic heart who walks with Jesus. Then the yoke of modelling the way of Jesus isn’t difficult or something we “should or ought” to do, it’s our actual life, our posture that drives our behaviours. Jist some thoughts, brother! We are in this together!!
As I lead a traditional sunday driven church. There is great tension to see such a direction. We have some wins, a few are getting it, but the power of culture and tradition are strong. There is an unlearning I see needs to happen and that is hard in light of what is comfortable. Do others every feel like one is speaking a different language as they work to lead change. I wonder can one bring such a change in a traditional setting?
